This project intends to pursue the concept of Whole Warship (WW), from the point of view of ship design: identifying and developing a prototype of a new technological method of "computer aided design" which supports the critical phase of the definition of the configuration ship characterized by a mixture of requirements, constraints, and design solutions and their implications in operating costs and reflections.

It wants to resolve the problems of synergy between the resources of the platform and those of the Combat System, which today is not only in the design phase, but also on naval units built. The result of this project will be demonstrated by a technological tool (framework) to support the "computer aided design" that would enable the ship to conduct an analysis of alternatives (trade-off) between the operational component (missions, naval task, measure of effectiveness, combat system) and the ship design.
